We can spruce up our balconies/porches by decorating them however we want and the owners are going to give each apartment $25 free (!) to start their balcony creation. In June we will send off our votes for best balcony/porch and a judge panel will also put their say into the vote. In June we will find out who wins 4 tickets to see a Dayton Dragons baseball game!
What excited me most was that each apartment will get $25 to start and you can keep it even if you don't win! I thought it was too good to be true...but it's true! So I've been thinking of what I want to do with our balcony and will be posting pictures soon when it is completed.
For now, here are my ideas:
Since we already have a turquoise adirondack chair, I've been inspired to stick with turquoise, red, and beige (thanks to Martha Stewart's kitchen collection! I love those colors together).
Today, Scott and I made a trip to IKEA and I found two red/white seat cushions for just $1.99 each!
I just love them! I will soon put them on two beige chairs I plan on buying from the CVS down the street (they've been having a bogo free deal on them!!) I also bought two red flower pots from IKEA and after browsing a few of the greenhouses around here, I want to fill them with African marigolds.
I'm so excited about putting these ideas into action and I will be posting pictures soon of our balcony creation!
