...dusty books...

I love old bookstores and, even more, I love lazy days browsing old bookstores...

Thursday Scott and I ventured to Cincinnati to an old used bookstore downtown.  It had four stories of rows and rows of old books.  It even had the old sliding ladders to reach the books on the higher shelves.  Although we didn't leave with a box-full like last weekend at the Public Library Sale where all books were 50 or 25 cents, it was a neat book shop with lots of character.  I thoroughly enjoyed looking at National Geographics from the 30s and 40s.

There was a very large theology/religion section, which Scott thoroughly enjoyed, and although there were not many literature/poetry books that interested me, it was a fun visit.  Scott left with two finds and I left with one ("Introduction to Theory" by Terry Eagleton) and a few photos, which I have included below.

  1. How fun! I've always wanted to visit a bookstore with the ladders like that. I think it's because of Beauty and The Beast, but I'm not sure? haha! Did you take those pictures? They're awesome!

  2. Thanks, Lady B!! I always loved that part in Beauty and the Beast too! Belle was my favorite of all the Disney characters - I think because she loved to read so much (and she liked to sing!!)

Yes, I took those at the bookshop we went to. I thought the store had so much character...thanks : )
