a post devoted to our engagement...

After browsing other blogs, I have seen a lot of engagement and wedding inspiration pictures so I've decided to devote a post to our photos.  Scott proposed to me on 9/9/09 on a weekend when I was visiting him at school.  He took me to the chapel on campus and we sat on the front row together.  Then he got down on one knee in front of me and held in his hands a beautiful white gold engagement ring with three blue sapphires with three tiny diamonds on each side.  I couldn't have picked out a better ring myself! It was beautiful and so was the proposal!!  Of course I said yes and we proceeded to call our parents and tell them of the news on the phone.
We had always talked about having a fall or winter wedding and soon set the date for 1/2/10.  We thought it was very appropriate since my parents' anniversary is December 1st and his parents were married February 4th -  so we were right in the middle!  In November a friend of his parents' took our engagement pictures.  The shoot was very sentimental to us because the photos were taken in places that had personal meaning to us.  Our first stop was at the college where we both graduated from our undergrad and also where we met - at the college's theater.

[we found inspiration for this on the internet!! so glad we incorporated it!]

Our next stop for the shoot was our church which means a lot to both of us...

[This one is very special because we are sitting in the pews where we sang in choir each Sunday...our Engagement photo shoot was a lot of fun and we made some new memories in some old places...thanks to John McCaroll Photography!]
