Today Scott and I ventured out to one of the Metro Parks to see Patrick Dougherty's "stickwork." Scott got the opportunity to meet Dougherty in April and hear him give a talk at the Dayton Art Institute. He bought his new book so I'd already seen a lot of his work. But it's nothing like seeing it in person. For more information or pictures of his work the New York Times had a very interesting article about his log cabin home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Here are some pictures from our excursion.
Thanks for sharing! It is great that you have the opportunity to see such creative works! Wonder how many hours it took to create this?
ReplyDeleteThanks Christina! I think it took around a month and he uses volunteers from the areas where he works. You should look up some of his work and see if you can find one in your travels!
